Gout do not consider it proper to make any alteration whilst they are filled by their present Occupants, but I have to inform you that on the occurrence of the first Vacancies the following reductions are to be made in their Salaries :
Colonial Sec. £1,800 to £1,500 Chief Justice - 3,000 to 2,000 Attorney Gen. - 1,500 to 1,000
I have also to instruct you that upon the occurrence of a Vacancy the office of Colonial Surgeon should be dispensed with, and the Plan which you suggest should be tried, of entrusting the duties to one of the staff Assistant Surgeons on an allowance of £250 per annum.
